If you are having problems with launching RDP connections which are tunneled over a Citrix Gateway please be aware there is a known issue when working with iOS devices.
I was able to launch the session but immediately received the following error code:
After reading through the release notes I found out this is already a known issue (# NSHELP-18496) and there is a workaround available.
The solution is to modify the “RDP Cookie Validity” from the RDP Client Profile. The default value is 60 seconds but this is not being honored on iOS. I played arround with different time ranges. Everything over 600 seconds was working for me. Simply increase the value with the following CLI command:
“set rdp clientprofile RDP rdpCookieValidity 600”
After this the RDP session was being established without any problems.
Hello citrixguy. i want to know if an upgrade of citrix xenapp and VDA 7.8 to the latest version of citrix will resolve issues like users getting this error unless the xenapp server is restarted? “unable to launch application contact your helpdesk with the following information: cannot connect to the citrix xenapp server. there is no citrix xenapp server configured on the specified address”. Thanks for your reply.
Sounds more like a problem with your VDA/ broker connection. Version 7.8 is already EOL. You should consider an update and continue troubleshooting.
ok thanks for the feedback. wanted to ask though when you say broker you mean the delivery controller right? Anyways the delivery controller and the VDA are installed on the same machine.
Correct. Broker = Delivery Controller
The VDA and Broker should never be installed on the same machine. I don’t know your environment but this sounds pretty bad. Maybe you should do a health check about the whole environment. If you need help get in contact with a local consulting company.
Hello CitrixGuy, i hope this post finds you in good cheers. i would like to ask if a direct upgrade from xenapp 7.8 to virtual apps 7 1909 is possible, also if my current license for my xenapp 7.8 will allow me to upgrade to virtual apps 7 1909 without the need for me to buy additional licenses for virtual apps 7 1909. Thank you for your kind response.
It is possible. Make sure your SA-date of the XenApp/CVAD licenses is sufficient before upgrading to 1909 😉
Hello Citrixguyblog, wanted to ask if netscaler vpx is supported on azure stack
I guess it should be supported with a BYOY license model. I would suggest you to contact a Citrix/Microsoft to verify if it is fully supported.
